Coastal counties are under another flash flood watch throughout the day Thursday, with up to 4 inches of rain expected in isolated areas.

Brazoria, Galveston and southeast Harris County area all included under the watch until 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston Office.

Widespread rain of up to 2 inches is expected, with 4 inches possible in areas where storms are stronger.

The latest watch follows days of rain and flash flooding in southeast Texas.

Meanwhile, meteorologists are eyeing a storm system in the Gulf of Mexico, which has a 60 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next two days.

Regardless of any development, the storm should bring more heavy rains late this week, according to the National Hurricane Center.
